I have broadly organized my work on this subject into three categories, listed below. Clicking on a category will bring you to a new page with the relevant titles and abstracts.
History and Philosophy of Physics and Cosmology
My main area of research since graduate school, I have written on a variety of topics concerning general relativistic spacetime, the relationship between general relativity (and standard model cosmology) and quantum gravity research, and quantum gravity phenomenology. I have also written on the early history of expanding universe cosmology.
Another of my major research areas is the social dynamics of science. Here, I focus on creativity and speculation in research, as well as on the role of broader socio-cultural factors in a socially-embedded science.
Foundations of Science in Policy
Following my involvement in the Epistemology of Evidence-Based Policy research group, some my work concerns the foundations of science in policy: how ongoing scientific research or knowledge filters into decision-maker and policymaker action.
